Ford Street has three best-selling titles. Has your shop stocked Trust Me!, edited by Paul Collins with a foreword by Isobelle Carmody; Solace & Grief by Foz Meadows; or Wardragon (Book #4 in The Jelindel Chronicles) by Paul Collins?
These titles keep on selling. Why not take a test drive with them? Ford Street will send one free copy to the first fifteen stores that email us with their preference (one book per shop). But we'd like you to promise to order in copies of that book from Macmillan Distribution Services if it sells within two weeks of being on your shelf. That's not a bad deal!

We have 3kg post packs full of stickers and bookmarks for the first twenty librarians, booksellers or festival organisers to email us their postal address. Contrary to the maxim "Nothing is for free", these actually are. However, to allay suspicions, let's at least give you something to work for. Please tell us why you want Ford Street's merchandise.

Scotch College hosted a Ford Street Literary Luncheon event in November. Students from eight schools came to lunch with 16 authors and illustrators including Hazel Edwards, Doug MacLeod, Michael Salmon and Phil Kettle. Ford Street has just had its best year. For individual reasons, all our titles sold well.
In Lonnie's Shadow by Chrissie Michaels, The Star by Felicity Marshall and The Glasshouse by Paul Collins and illustrated by Jo Thompson, all sold to a book club. Solace and Grief by Foz Meadows became our 2010 best-seller; f2m by Hazel Edwards and Ryan Kennedy was a world-first transgender book co-written by a transgender and is still selling; Rufus the Numbat by David Miller and JE Fison's two Hazard River titles, Snake Surprise! and Shark Frenzy! have all gone into reprint. |

We did well with foreign rights last year. Crossing the Line by Dianne Bates was published by Thienemann Verlag, Germany; Pool by Justin D'Ath was published by Actes Sud in France; The Jelindel Chronicles by Paul Collins was published in Portugal by Gailivro. The Glasshouse by Paul Collins and illustrated by Jo Thompson is one of four Aust. books to be chosen by IBBY for their Outstanding Books for Young People with Disabilities project. The latter will be an International travelling exhibition :-). 50 "Outstanding Books 2011" will be launched at the Bologna International Children's Bookfair in March.
